Mangalam Educational Institutions, Ettumanoor was founded by late Mr. M.C Varghese. Mangalam College of Engineering (MLMCE) is one among them. MLMCE is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala. It stands supreme in technical education with excellence and quality in education. In keeping with MLM's goal of excellence, the academic programs are supported by well experienced and dedicated faculty, committed to equip the student with knowledge and skills need for succeeding in today's rapidly changing world. The institution is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institute offers B. Tech. programme in seven areas of technology, M.Tech programme in five disciplines, MBA, and PhD. programme in all branches of engineering, science and management.
The mechanical engineering department started in the year 2002, offers both undergraduate (B. Tech.) and postgraduate (M. Tech.) programmes. The annual intake of the B. Tech. programme is 60 students and that of the M. Tech. is 18. The AICTE has given the approval to start one more batch of 60 students in B. Tech programme from 2012 academic year onwards. The department provides its students an environment that stimulates their intellectual growth and personality development. Infrastructure facilities are excellent with well-equipped labs, classrooms and libraries. The newly created CAD/CAM lab has state of the art CNC machine and softwares like Solid Works, Sold Edge,Unigraphics NX Cam Express etc.Training programs conducted for the B. Tech. students throughout the course of their study by the Placement and Training Cell of our college and prepares them for a smooth transition from academia to the industry. Our students have secured very good results in the University examinations and they regularly participate in inter collegiate technical and cultural events.
